オンライン英会話の宿題 recently, lately, just

今まで勉強のメモはNotionに書いていたのだが、ブログ記事にしてしまっても良いのでは？と思うようになった。正直ここに書いておくのが一番自分でも参照できる気がするし。

以下の単語を使って2文ずつ例文作れ

RecentlyとLatelyの違い

Recentlyは過去のある時点で起こったことについて。

Latelyは前から続いていることについて。つまり、過去形と使われることはあまりない。なるほど。

意識したことなかった……全部Recentlyでやってた……。

文頭と文中でニュアンスは異なるんだろうか。日本語だと「最近」をどこに置いてもそんなに変わらないが。

Recentlyの例文

1. Recently, I went back to my parent’s house.
2. I recently bought a new headphone.

上記を提出するとして、思いつくだけ書いていく。

1. Recently, I created a new blog site.
2. I recently bought a new shampp and conditioner.
3. I recently started playing the game of Date a Live. However, that game is not very interesting and I don’t think I will be able to continue playing it.

Latelyの例文

1. Lately, I sometimes have cooked for myself.
2. Lately the internet connection at home has been bad a lot.

ネットの調子悪くなることが多いのはガチ。家のネット接続って、the internet connection at homeでいいんだろうか。

今日は回線が悪いみたいです。って英語でなんて言うの？ – DMM英会話なんてuKnow?

とりあえずthe connection。レッスン中はよくConnection is bad.とか言うけどねぇ。

sometimesとか頻度入れるのが入ると文頭に起きたくなる。

そしてlatelyでずっとやっていることってそんなにないというか、眠れないとか疲れたとかネガティブな話ばっかりになってします（ネガティブなことをオンライン英会話で言うのはあんまり歓迎されない）。

1. I have been feeling tired lately. ってまんま参考サイトにあった文やないかい
2. I haven’t been sleeping much lately.

justの例文

ちょうど…したところ、の意味で使いたい。今回の宿題は「最近」なので、多分過去形のほうが意図にマッチするだろう。

1. I just got home from work.
2. The train has just left.

スピーキング

質問に答える。本当は前の授業の動画を全部見ないといけないんだけど、苦痛過ぎて見られていない……なんなんだこの画面に映っているスハスハしたおっさんは……。

ということで今回の課題文。

How did people learn new information before we had the Internet?

と聞いているっぽい。読めばわかるのに聞くとわからん……死にたい……。

さて、忘れもしない中学2年生以降インターネットがあった僕なので、それ以前のこととなると……。まぁ適当に書いていくか。

When I was fourteen years, I had the Internet. So I can’t imagine a world without the Internet, but I still learn new information in many different ways. For example, newspapers, books, magazines, TV, radio, and so on.

I asked my mother about it, and she said yes. These days many people don’t read newspapers, but at that time, almost every people read newspapers and watched TV.

Besides, she said that it was important to ask people who were familier with what you want to know.

I don’t think that has changed. It is still important to ask people. However, it is easier to look it up on the Internet. There are many things that we can solve on the Internet. I can’t live without the Internet. I’m glad that I was born in a world with the Internet.

「など」の英語表現and so onの注意点６つまとめ

and so onって口語ではあまり使わないの？便利な表現なのに。ただ使えるは使えるらしい。まぁでも確かに、などなど、ってあんまり日本語でも口語では使わないね。それに近い感じなのかな。
